As of October 2025, we are trialling a new sign in system. Thank you for your patience with us as we work through the finer details.
How it Works
- Step 1: Sign in, take a number and a House Rules page to read over and return.
- Step 2: Take a seat until we call out your number.
Note: If you need any assistance for accessibility, please stay by the front desk to let us know.
- Step 3: Once your number is called return to the front desk to sign in and show us the broken item.
- Step 4: Explain your repair then return to your seat and wait to be called
Note: All our volunteers have different skills, which is why sometimes people who arrive after you may be seen first if they have an item in a different fixing category.
- Step 5: We will escort you to a repairer.
Note: Watch and learn how the repair can be done. Assist as necessary.
- Step 6: Return to the front desk to sign out or receive a number for your next repair if you have one.
Notes:
If the item was electrical, you must ask for a PAT test to be conducted.
We may ask you if we can take a photo of your item with a “Repaired” sign for our social media so we can show others what kinds of repairs we achieved
What should I bring in with my item?
Please bring with you (all that are applicable):
- the charger for your device
- the device for the charger
- the battery for your power tool/ item
- the broken plastic part or any screws and parts that fell off
- spare similar type material if you have, that matches your clothing for a patch.
What kind of information will I be asked when there?
Examples include:
- What have you brought in for us today?
- Whats happened to your item?
- What happened the last time it worked?
- What exactly doesn’t work with your item?
- If you plug it in to the wall plug does anything happen, any lights come one, do the other buttons and functions work?
- Can you show me each of the holes in these cloths?
- Have you tried to repair this before?
- What type of glue did you use for a previous repair?
